TWO ORGANIZERS PUT TOGETHER AND LIFE IS GOOD

I won't be long now. Fabric, fabric everywhere and finally a place to put it. How much fun it is to play with my fabric. It is where I can see it so I can create without having to take everything out. There are still some things that have to get done but I should be up and running before the weekend is over. Once it is done I will begin to post pictures. It is snowing and it looks beautiful out there.

IT WAS LIKE HITTING THE LOTTO

Today was a wonderful day! My girlfriend Ruthie picked me up at 9:45 am and together we went to our knitting group. The sun was shining and it felt like a beautiful spring day in the Catskill Mountains. Let's see.... Betty, Pam, Monica, Ruthie and I all sat around talking about our grandchildren and the silly things they say. Then Dolle (doll aye) came with her daughter and granddaughter to add to the mayhem. Ruthie wanted me to tell the group the little knitting rhyme that my niece Emma Rose says when she knits. I couldn't remember it so I called my sister who put Emma on the phone. With the phone on speaker she was quite pleased to share with us this little knitting rhyme...."under the fence, catch the sheep, back again and over we leap". Betty had to write it down which caused Emma to recite it several more times. She was really adorable and seemed pleased to help Auntie's knitting group out. We said a group good-bye and thank you to Emma and then after a bit of knitting, we packed up at noon for our next adventure which waited for us down on Main Street.

WE HAVE A BEAUTIFUL QUILT SHOP IN WINDHAM, NY. All I can say is wow!!!! Ruthie, Betty and I walked in and drooled over the many bolts of fabric. We had arrived at Patchwork Quilt Shop. The building itself is spectacular. Fran and her daughter did a wonderful job preparing the shop and all the goodies it has to offer. The collection of fabric is amazing and will capture a wide variety of quilters and sewers. I know it is going to be my second home! The Patchwork Quilt Shop is a dream come true for many a fabric worshipper.

After shopping at Patchwork, we went to Woodstock Quilt Shop which was having a 30% sale. They are moving to Glenville and will be teaming up with another quilt shop where they will spread their own brand of quilting magic. Good luck Bob and Jim. I will be seeing you both soon in April.

Right now I am sitting on the couch, surrounded by my goodies. I am enjoying this moment. If only I could get Jay to stop laughing at me as I examine my stash. Until the next time!

I AM GETTING CLOSER TO MY ROOM!!!

The studio is almost done. Jay is putting some beautiful touches on it. He is adding knotty pine to a sun shiney wonderfully cozy place. I should be able to begin to finish projects. Hope all is well.

SETTING UP IS HARD TO DO

My gosh setting up this studio is taking forever. I didn't know that I had this much stuff. But...I am chipping away at it a little at a time. Still....I have to get sewing because I still have christmas presents to make and curtains to sew. I am not ready for Thanksgiving and it happened already!!!

SEWING MY WAY THRU MY LIBRARY

OK, so the idea isn't original but today I spent the day cleaning and organizing my studio. I have quite a collection of books in my library and decided that I am going to sew and knit my way thru every single book. It should be quite interesting and I will share it all here.

It will be fun to share this with my knitting group and my quilting group. The really exciting thing is that I will have the rest of my sewing room by this weekend. Hurray!!!!

A WONDERFUL GROUP OF WOMEN

Last night I went to the knitting group I joined. The meeting place varies week to week and last night we had it at the local coffee shop that has coffee, tea, and pastries to die for!! I almost didn't make it though because our new wood stove was put in and it took the two guys forever. But....not to miss out on creativity, I dashed out the door and away I went.

The women have been meeting for quite some time and of course, I am the newest member. Ruthie has lived here all of her life and she is an accomplished knitter who spends the evening attempting to bail each one of us out of some knitting mess we have made. Then there is Helen who loves to laugh and clown around. She is a really funny woman who has a wonderful personality. Dolly is from the south but loves it up here. She is new to knitting and has a gentle way about her. Marie is total New York and loves to be creative (as do we all). I haven't learned the others names by heart yet but when I do I will let you know all about them. I am lucky to have landed in the arms of such wonderful women.

Today...it is off to the quilting group for three hours. Apparently the Patchworkers have a reputation and a song has been written about them. I haven't heard it yet but I am told that it is really good.

My juices are beginning to flow again thank the Goddess!

THE STUDIO IS FINALLY GETTING PAINTED

Jay and I spent the morning painting the studio. We haven't finished yet but the color is a beautiful buttery yellow. I'll have sunshine even on cloudy days (hey wasn't that a song?). We are settling in slowly but surely. Once the studio is painted and I get my sewing room from NC, I will be good to go. How is everyone else doing? Cate?
